the Historic Belle- Hampton FarmThe farm has been in operation since the late 1700's, in 1920 it became home to Governor Stanley's Dam on Back Creek in Dublin, Virginia. The dam housed a hydroelectric facility which ran until the 1940's when an earthquake struck the area. Now the farm is owned by Tom Hoge, a descendant of the governor who is excited about bringing hydroelectric power back to his family's farm. |
Previous Hydroelectric Facility The team has elected to design a system that will replace the previous turbine system with a modern turbine, while still using the existing powerhouse foundation and penstock pipe. |
OUR GOALWe aim to provide the historic farm with a way to continue its legacy as a pioneer facility in renewable energy. |
